Number the Stars

Adapted by Douglas W. Larche
from the book by Lois Lowry

Until the Nazis invaded Denmark during World War II, it didn’t matter to 14-year-old Annemarie Johansen that her friend Ellen was Jewish.  But the Nazis begin arresting and deporting Jewish families, and Ellen and her family must flee.  Facing soldiers, interrogations, fierce dogs, and family secrets, Annemarie and her sister Kirstie draw on their courage and ingenuity (and fledgling acting skills) to help Ellen survive.
